Holistic Counselling
I offer holistic counselling for those feeling emotionally stretched, carrying weight in their body, or moving through a period of transition — providing gentle, supportive care for mind and body.
Holistic counselling offers a supportive, confidential space to explore emotional difficulties, life challenges, and patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing.
My approach is gentle, client-centred, and integrative. I work with the understanding that emotional experiences are not held only in the mind, but are closely connected to the body, nervous system, and our lived experience over time.
Counselling sessions are guided by your needs, your pace, and what feels most important for you to explore.
What Holistic Counselling Can Support
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may find holistic counselling helpful if you are experiencing:
-
Anxiety, panic, or ongoing overwhelm
-
Low mood, emotional fatigue, or burnout
-
Low self-worth or confidence difficulties
- Difficult or recurring patterns in relationships
-
The impact of past experiences or trauma
-
Life transitions or periods of uncertainty
-
A sense of disconnection from yourself or your body
You don’t need to have a clear reason or a specific “problem” to begin. Sometimes it’s enough to feel that something isn’t quite right.
How I Work
Holistic counselling is a collaborative process. Sessions offer a calm, respectful space where you are listened to with care and without judgement.
I work in a way that:
-
Honours your individual experience
-
Respects your boundaries and autonomy
-
Moves at a pace that feels manageable
-
Recognises the role of the nervous system and the body
Sessions are guided by careful listening, intuitive awareness, and sensitivity to what’s present emotionally and energetically. Techniques — such as gentle somatic practices, energy awareness, parts work, guided meditation, EFT, NLP, or elements from hypnotherapy and energetic healing — may be used selectively, always in a way that supports your comfort and needs.
The work unfolds gently and intuitively, rather than following a fixed structure, and sometimes a session may involve little or no structured technique.
Counselling and the Body
Emotional experiences often show up physically — through tension, fatigue, restlessness, or a sense of being “on edge”.
As a practitioner with experience in bodywork and somatic support, I hold an awareness of how emotional and physical wellbeing are interconnected. This understanding may inform the counselling process, even when the work is primarily conversational.
If body-based support would be helpful, this can be discussed together, and explored in a way that feels safe and appropriate for you.
Working with Sensitivity and Awareness
Alongside emotional and psychological support, I also hold space for the spiritual or energetic aspects of experience, where this feels relevant and welcome.
This can be supportive for those who identify as highly sensitive, empathic, or intuitively aware.
I’m mindful of energetic boundaries and creating a calm, protected space, particularly for those who feel easily overwhelmed by others’ emotions or energy. Any spiritual or energetic elements are always optional, gently held, and guided by your comfort and consent.
What Sessions Are Like
Sessions are a confidential space where there is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable.
You’re welcome to bring:
-
Whatever feels present for you
-
Questions or uncertainties
-
Silence, reflection, or emotion
There is no expectation to know where to begin. We can gently explore this together.
Hypnotherapy
Alongside counselling, I am also a qualified hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy is a gentle and relaxing therapeutic approach that works with the subconscious mind. During a session you are guided into a calm, focused state of relaxation, which can help you access deeper thoughts, feelings and patterns. In this relaxed state, many people find it easier to reflect, explore challenges and begin making helpful changes.
It can be particularly helpful for areas such as anxiety, confidence, phobias, sleep difficulties and body image, as well as deeper personal exploration. Some clients are also interested in using hypnotherapy for soul exploration or past life regression as part of their personal or spiritual journey. These sessions are approached gently and with curiosity, offering a reflective space for insight, meaning and personal understanding.
Hypnotherapy can be used on its own or integrated gently within counselling sessions, you will always remain aware and in control throughout the process and sessions are always guided by what feels comfortable and right for you.
Before Your First Session
It’s normal to feel nervous before your first session.
You’re welcome to bring questions, take your time, and arrive just as you are. Sessions move at your pace, and you’re always in control of what you choose to share.
